The Head of the Administration (Governor) of the Rostov region

In October 1991, by order of the President of the RF, appointed Head of the Administration of the Rostov region.

On 29th September 1996, with the electorate voting on the basis of a fair secret ballot, was elected for a term of five years. He received 62.15% of the votes in the election – far outstripping the nearest contender (31.6%).

In accordance with the statutes and resolutions of the Legistlative assembly of the region on 23rd   September 2001, an election for the Head of the Administration (Governor) of the Rostov region was held. V. F. Chub was reelected Governor with 78.19% of the votes. He obtained 1,224,570 votes, that is 331,479 votes more than during the elections in 1996.
